This microfluidic ring-mixer device enables the mixing of up to three distinct fluid components via eight independently addressable control channels. We used this device to assemble genetic circuits via ligation, Gibson, Golden Gate, and Gateway assembly biocchemistries.
That looks really fantastic, David! It would be great to see one of your useful designs submitted to the Journal of Open Hardware (www.journalofopenhardware.org)
Thanks MakerTobey! Is it OK to submit even if the part is already discussed in the Nature Biotech article?
I didn’t notice your reply until now! But it is not too late.
Yes, it is possible to still publish the hardware with us. Of course we don’t publish information that is already published (in the indexed form of an article or book), but (as is often the case) in your Nature Biotechnology article you focus on the application of the technology, not on the technical details. These details (especially the flow controller) can be discussed in a follow up article with the JOH to make the information more open and accessible. Let me know if you are still interested. You have my email already, but here again for convenience: tobias.wenzel[at]embl.de
